Students of Inspira College, Lagos, on Friday, March 7, paid a familiarization visit to the Imota main campus of Caleb University.

The visit was facilitated by the university’s marketing team to give the students first-hand information on the institution.

The marketing staff, led by Mrs. Adewumi Rabiu, Deputy Registrar, Academic Affairs and Marketing, were on the ground to receive the visiting students and took them around the university.

Other members of the marketing team are Mr. Gabriel Adekeye, Mrs. Funmilola Adeyemi, Mrs. Adejoke Mustapha, and Mrs. Funmilayo Aroyewun.

The delegation took time off to explore the campus, attend informative sessions, and interact with university staff and students.

They also saw the campus studio, which houses the state-of-the-art radio station from where the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC)-licensed “Radio Caleb 100.3 FM” transmits daily.

The visitors, who were conducted round the facility by the Director of Academic Planning, Prof. Charles Nwachukwu, Deputy Dean, College of Arts, Social and Management Sciences (CASMAS), Dr. Kayode Okunade, and Head of Mass Communication Department, Dr. Monday Ogbona, equally saw the broadcast console, the professional-grade digital audio workstation; high quality microphones and headphones, and acoustic treatment, which includes soundproofing materials, diffusers, and absorbers for optimal audio quality.

In his remark, the University’s Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof Sunday Adewale, commended the Inspire College delegation and assured the students that the visit would introduce them not only to the university’s culture, values, and extracurricular activities but also its facilities.

In her brief address, Rabiu welcomed the students to the university and wished them a pleasant time on campus.

The University feels fulfilled to welcome these bright and ambitious future leaders to our campus. The fundamental objective is to spur, guide, motivate, and inspire these students to pursue higher education and achieve their avowed dreams,” she stated.

Many of the students were delighted to be on the campus and expressed the desire to enroll for courses, particularly Mass Communication, in the future.

“The visit is an eye-opener. It is just as if I was in a dream land.  The interaction has opened our eyes to the endless possibilities and opportunities available at Caleb University.

“My friends and I cannot wait to be a part of this vibrant academic community,” they chorused at the interactive session.
